Rejecting fear, embracing love, being like Jesus. That is the best summary of my Christian faith, and it truly did save my life.
This message is truly liberating, not just for those of us with spiritual trauma, but for every person that has ever been oppressed. Oppression is fueled by fear. Whenever we can demonize and provoke terror in the hearts of people, they can be manipulated and controlled in the most malevolent ways. But when people can see past the lie and deception and choose the path of believing in their own belovedness (and therefore dignity and equity) as well as understand that Love is the ground of all being, then they can find strength and power to overcome and overturn any and every oppressive system and structure.
