Critical thinking, we call it in the classroom. I don’t want to call it “critical theory” until they know that theory just means thought. Some have been told by their parents and other politicians that critical theory is bad and critical race theory is even worse. “Thoughtfulness party” or, better, “beloved community” or “group courage” or “artisans of moral seriousness” sometimes does a better job of setting a table for impressionable young people.
